Awards - HSBC named Financial Adviser of the Year by Infrastructure Journal

HSBC has been named Financial Adviser of the Year in the annual Infrastructure Journal 2008 Awards. This is the third consecutive year HSBC Project Finance has won this award, reflecting its leadership and excellence in financing global infrastructure projects.
In naming HSBC its Financial Adviser of the Year, Infrastructure Journal highlighted HSBC's global reach and ability to lead and close deals across multiple regions, Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East; along with its expertise across different sectors, renewable energy, power, oil and gas, and infrastructure.
HSBC Project Finance was involved in a number of leading deals in 2008, including:
- The Fred Olsen wind portfolio in the UK
- GNL Quintero LNG in Chile - also shortlisted for Infrastructure Journal's Oil and Gas Deal of the Year
- ITE College West in Singapore
- Saudi Kayan in Saudi Arabia
- Sohar IWPP in Oman
- Angamos in Chile - Infrastructure Journal's Power Deal of the Year
- Ras Laffan on Qatar - also shortlisted for Infrastructure Journal's PPP Deal of the Year
This Financial Adviser of the Year award from Infrastructure Journal adds to HSBC's many awards received in this sector in 2008 including Best Project Finance House in Asia in the Euromoney Regional Awards for Excellence 2008; Best Project Finance House in The Asset Regional House Awards 2008; along with many deal awards including Global Corporate Deal of the Year for BAA Refinancing from Project Finance International.
