"The best part of my job is travelling and learning about various areas of the bank. It gives me a unique opportunity to build a good network across the bank and experience different cultures."

I joined HSBC because as one of the world’s leading financial institutions, it offers many exciting projects and clients, which together with its global reach, provide limitless opportunities for any career path.

The best part of my job is travelling and learning about various areas of the Bank. It gives me a unique opportunity to build a good network across the Bank and experience different cultures.

My standout moment so far was getting to know the other graduates in Geneva on the rotation programme. Not only did we interact professionally, but we also enjoyed exploring the city together. From sailing lessons to dinner parties, it was a great experience.

What has surprised me the most is the diversity of the different offices, in terms of working styles, team structures, activities and my responsibilities.

Looking to the future, I aim to earn a CFA charter in the next two years. In five years, I expect to continue learning about the Bank and to start working toward managerial responsibilities.

My advice to you is to make the most of the programme. It offers many opportunities, but the responsibility for your learning and career development is in your own hands, so be proactive.

I capitalised on an opportunity to make a difference to a project by organising learning sessions for different products on the Swiss platform with all the appropriate teams in the Bank. My manager had suggested it would be beneficial for me to improve my knowledge in this area. By taking the initiative, I got a great experience, with the chance to network and learn more. I think every project can be approached in a number of ways. It’s up to you to make the difference.
