HSBC Capital (North America) makes private equity and mezzanine investments in profitable, middle market companies and select real estate transactions. Investments are typically made in companies experiencing growth and in need of additional sources of capital beyond traditional bank financing and term credit. The North American private equity business has operated for over 10 years through two entities - HSBC Capital (Canada) Inc (HCCA) and HSBC Capital (USA) Inc (HCUS).

Through recent commitments and fund raising, HSBC Group has expanded its commitment to private equity and mezzanine financing in North America.

• HCCA manages approximately USD185 million in capital and is in the process of raising a new USD100+ million private equity fund from outside investors
• HCUS manages over USD1 billion in investment capital and targets mezzanine, private equity and select real estate opportunities in the smaller end of the US middle market
